Please stop saying …

Please stop saying that it took courage to oppose the Vietnam war in 1971, especially in Massachusetts. That’s true only if it takes courage to oppose the editorial board of the New York Times and the faculties of the Ivy League. No, in Massachusetts in 1971, it took about as much courage to oppose the Vietnam war as it did to shout “Death to America!” at a Hamas meeting. In other words, none.
Please stop saying that John Kerry, Jane Fonda and their cadre of greasy-haired, maggot-infested, gamy Vietcong flag waving hippies shortened the length of the Vietnam war. If you believe that, here’s a suggestion: the next time you’ve got a project to do around the house, like cleaning out the garage, enlist a group of whiny, pampered neighborhood brats to stand around bleating derogatory slogans at you. Their screeching about what a waste of time the job is should really help shorten its duration and make it go so much smoother! One thing we know that these charter members of the America-is-always-wrong club didn’t shorten was the duration or the suffering of our POWs, several of whom are on the record about the demoralizing effect their statements had. Maj. Kenneth Cordier, who was held by the North Vietnamese for 2,284 days said that he was constantly confronted by his enemy jailors incessantly repeating John Kerry’s “last man to die” for a mistake line.
Speaking of that, please stop saying that the Vietnam war was a mistake. Only those who believe that defeating the Soviet Union and ending the Cold War was a mistake would believe that, a group that includes Senator John Kerry. I guess that goes along with thinking the the Reagan years were eight years of “moral darkness.” I’m not surprised that a guy who wasn’t opposed to the Soviets establishing another Cuba-style satellite dictatorship in our hemisphere in Nicaragua would think that defeating communists was a mistake. After all, he was meeting with our communist enemies in Paris in 1970 while some of his ‘band of brothers’ were still dying at their hands in the field. No wonder the North Koreans are salivating at the prospect of this guy’s election. Great for them, bad for us and bad for freedom, which is why I will never stop saying that we don’t need John Kerry.
